How to Install WordPress via Fantastico DeLuxe

 

WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms around for good reason. It is easy to install and features an attractive, user-friendly interface. At SiveHost, you can install WordPress through QuickInstall, Fantastico DeLuxe or manually.

In the following tutorial, we'll cover the Fantastico route for a WordPress self-hosted installation. It's a bit easier than a manual installation, and it only takes a click or two!

Install WordPress via Fantastico

  1. Log into cPanel through the SiveHost client area.
  2. Scroll down to the Software/Services section and click on the Fantastico Deluxe (blue smiley face) icon.
  3. On the left, under Blogs, click WordPress.
  4. In the center of the page, click New Installation.
  5. From the Install on domain drop-down menu, select which domain you'd like WordPress installed on.
  6. In the Install in directory field, type the directory in which you'd like WordPress installed.
  7. In the Admin access data section, create an administrator username and password. This will be required to log into WordPress once it is installed.
  8. In the Admin nickname field, enter the name the public will see attached to your WordPress blog posts.
  9. In the Admin e-mail field, input an email address to associate with your new blog. This should be an existing account.
  10. In the Site name field, enter the name of your site.
  11. In the Description field, enter a description of your website.
  12. Click Install WordPress. The next page will explain which MySQL database and MySQL username have been created for this blog installation. It also shows where the blog has been installed.
  13. Click Finish Installation.

When the installation is complete, you will see a confirmation screen which shows the URL where WordPress has been installed, along with the admin login name and password. You can select to have this information emailed to yourself by filling out theEmail the details of this installation to box titled and clicking Send E-mail.
